Building Veteran Leaders
for Stronger Communities

- The After War Project -
A NATIONAL MOVEMENT OF VETERANS COMMITTED TO LEADERSHIP, SERVICE, AND COMMUNITY
Military service develops leaders. It teaches responsibility, teamwork, resilience, and a commitment to something greater than yourself. Yet when service ends, many veterans find themselves searching for meaningful ways to continue contributing to the people and communities around them.
The After War Initiative was created to meet that need.
Our mission is to build a community of veterans who support one another's growth and development while becoming leaders within their families, workplaces, neighborhoods, and local communities. We believe the leadership skills developed through military service remain valuable long after the uniform comes off, and that veterans have a unique ability to create positive change wherever they live.
This initiative is about helping veterans continue their journey of service by investing in themselves, supporting one another, and leading where they are needed most.

- Our Core Principle -
Leadership begins with how you show up everyday
It begins in your family.
It continues in your relationships.
It influences your workplace.
And it extends into your community.
Our goal is to help veterans develop the confidence, skills, and support network needed to become positive influences in every area of their lives.
Through coaching, mentorship, education, and community engagement, we help veterans strengthen themselves so they can strengthen the people around them

- Stronger Together -
A COMMUNITY THAT INVESTS
IN ONE ANOTHER
No one achieves meaningful growth alone.
The Initiative is built around the idea that veterans are stronger when they are connected to a community of peers who encourage, challenge, and support one another. Through coaching, group discussions, events, service opportunities, and shared experiences, members build relationships rooted in trust, accountability, and a common desire to grow.
This is more than a network.
It is a community of veterans committed to helping one another succeed and become the best versions of themselves.

- Collaboration -
NO SINGLE ORGANIZATION CAN MEET EVERY NEED WITHIN A COMMUNITY
The After War Initiative works alongside nonprofits, community organizations, veteran service organizations, businesses, faith communities, and local leaders who share a commitment to strengthening the communities we serve. Rather than competing for attention, we seek to build partnerships that create greater opportunities for veterans and the broader public alike.
By working together, we can create stronger support systems, expand opportunities for service, and multiply our collective impact.
01
No One Organization has all the answers
Every organization brings unique strengths, resources, and expertise to the table. By working together, we can address challenges more effectively than any one group could alone.
02
Greater Impact for Communities
Collaboration allows organizations to combine their efforts, expand their reach, and create lasting change for the people and communities they serve.
03
More Opportunities for Veterans
Partnerships create additional pathways for veterans to access resources, develop leadership skills, volunteer, and engage in meaningful service opportunities.
04
Stronger Networks of Support
When organizations, community leaders, and veterans work together, they create a stronger support system that helps individuals thrive and communities grow.
