CREATING LEADERS THAT SHAPE THE FUTURE
Your leadership didn’t end when you left the service — it was revealed. The After War Project’s Veterans Mentoring Veterans Leadership Program exists to help you reclaim direction, sharpen decision-making, and lead with purpose in your next chapter. This is where veterans step forward again — not to follow, but to lead.
YOUR LEADERSHIP TRACK
You already know how to lead under pressure. What’s missing after service isn’t capability — it’s context, connection, and a clear mission. Veteran-to-veteran leadership development works because it’s built on shared experience, trust, and accountability. No theory. No posturing. Just leadership, practiced and applied.
You’ll start by leading yourself. Then you’ll train as a veteran mentor. From there, you’ll step into on-the-ground community leadership, organizing, guiding, and strengthening those around you. Leadership here is action — not a title.

Emphasis is placed on boundaries, accountability, and forward movement—not therapy or case management. Outcome: Strong communication, emotional intelligence, and the ability to guide veterans through transition challenges.

Mentorship is about progress. Veterans learn how to set clear goals, challenge complacency, and hold peers accountable to action. This component ensures conversations lead to movement, not just venting.
Mentors help mentees grow into leaders themselves. Veterans are trained to recognize readiness, encourage responsibility, and invite others into leadership roles—creating a cycle where mentorship multiplies and leadership spreads through the community.
